Routing your calls through the public internet holds may attractions for the smallest companies who already have an internet connection of adequate bandwidth. Its key benefits derive from the fact that no further connectivity is required, resulting in:

  • Low hardware and installation cost
  • Fast into service
  • Option to keep your current numbers
  • A low cost service to all national and international destinations

This solution, while widely adopted and completely viable, does not have the innate resilience of a dedicated VoIP business trunk. Points to be aware of are that your ISP rather than us is responsible for line faults, so their response time will be slower, and that there may be quality issues if voice and data are mixed on the same line.

However, in practice we find that the systems we install rarely encounter problems. We supply public internet circuits in conjunction with partner ISPs, and have invested in dedicated pipes between our network and these partners to assure the best possible service through this routing.

SIP Connectivity

SIP is a relatively recent signalling protocol that enables efficient initiation and management of communication sessions over an IP network, including voice and multimedia streams.

  • Teleworker Solutions – VoIP.co.uk’s Teleworker product is the ideal platform for realising the benefits of home office working. Our solutions are simply installed, economical and fully scalable, and they enable extension of the corporate network to virtually any location.
  • Free On-Net Calls – All calls within your company network are free of charge. This includes calls made to remote locations within your network.
  • Direct Dial Inwards (DDI) – DDI allows direct dialling in to multiple extensions on a PBX without the cost of multiple direct lines.
  • Number Porting – When a company or one of its offices relocates to another area code there is always the nagging headaches of how to retain the same phone numbers. Call forwarding is an option, but incurs an additional charge on every call. By switching to IP you can keep your existing number, even if it is currently with BT for example, and use it direct from your new location, wherever it is.
  • Billing by the Second – Many organisations, particularly call centres and others with automated call processes, make a large number of calls lasting only seconds. Conventionally each of these would attract a one minute call charge or a connect charge. However, at VoIP.co.uk we offer billing by the second, dramatically reducing the total charge on these calls.
  • Business Class Reliability – VoIP.co.uk’s Fail-Safe Duplex Routing is our highly competitive solution that gives you all the benefits of a duplicated trunk but at little more than half the cost.

Call Analysis Services

Our call analysis services allow you total control over the management of your telephony systems and awareness of call charges, all in real time. Key features and options are:

  • User Portal – Your interface with your system is your VoIP portal. This presents a real-time record of all calls, current and historical, the costs of each call and the running total of credit remaining in your account. It is also the management tool that allows you a range of functions in monitoring and controlling your system.
  • Call Divert – A call diversion service is set up free of charge on all lines.
  • Call Line Identification (CLI) Management – Call line identification can be set up on a per seat basis in any selected PBX.
  • Number Management & Routing – Call management applications enable you to manage your inbound calls and divert calls as you require.
  • Call Data Records (CDR) Reports – Comprehensive call data records and reports can be viewed online through the User Portal.
  • Invoicing – Invoices may be viewed online through the User Portal.
  • Per Seat Finance Reports – A recent innovation is the ability to log calls and therefore call spend per individual seat within a PBX. This opens up the ability to monitor each individual’s call usage patterns and instigate any remedial action required.
